Learning Objectives:  By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Consider the policy process and timing when identifying potential solutions
  2. Conduct a stakeholder power analysis
  3. Conduct an impact analysis
  4. Combine results to inform the decision
  5. Write a solution statement

During this 2-day, skills-based workshop, participants learn to analyze (compare) and select system/policy/environmental solutions to pursue.  The workshop introduces the solution analysis process and how to sequence analysis with windows of opportunity for influencing decision agendas.  Participants learn how to develop a stakeholder power analysis and an impact analysis, and they critically review examples of each.  Participants learn how the analysis results are combined to inform the decision.  The workshop concludes by drafting solution statements and considering the utility of policy briefs.
